The course exercises, involve the production of typical work-place documents that they are required to write in their daily work. There is a heavy emphasis on the production of written material by the students to test and expand their legal drafting ability. The trainers provide detailed feedback on the home tasks and all are either practicing British lawyers, working in the area of Commercial and Contract Law or experienced teachers of Law and Legal English.

The one day "Contract and legal document drafting" workshop for practicing lawyers and law students
will enable to improve your knowledge of Contract law and learn the necessary skills of writing clear, concise contracts.
Participants will gain experience and understanding of the essential skills of drafting clear contracts, including basic contracts, non-competition and confidentiality agreements, assignments and third party rights, guarantees, indemnities, warranties, conditions and other contract terms.
The seminar includes basic legal concepts in contract law, its rights, remedies and enforceability. This one/two day seminar will be delivered by experienced British lawyer/linguists used to the multicultural, international flavour of modern business. The seminar will cover not only the practical knowledge needed by lawyers working in international commerce but will also simulate an international contract negotiation scenario, with workshops, teams and simulated strategy meetings, as well as tactical argument development.
There will be numerous breakout sessions, for the participants to work through the material in the presentations, in teams led by the speakers.
All of this is intended to require full input from the participants to ensure they gain a solid working understanding of the principles and basics of writing clear, concise contracts which cover the points required.

This course prepares its students for work as lawyers in commercial law offices where English is the working language. The full course contains 60 hours of lessons plus 50 hours of home study tasks and a further 25 hours of tasks involving international legal research to cement the participant’s ability to practice International law. The lessons explain and increase knowledge and ability to use legal English words and phrases correctly by requiring the participants to read, watch, listen and speak. The course also uses the textbook and C D's - International Legal English published by Cambridge University Press.
